Halloween

Another week down here in East LA!
Goodness lots happened. So for starters on Tuesday we went down to Commerce, another city in our area. It's all suburb-y and there are a lot of semi trucks. Not many people wandering round for us to talk to though. But we made friends with a doggy by our investigator's house :)

Wednesday we found out my companion's driving privileges were revoked for an accident that happened months ago. So guess what? I have to drive now :P It's scary, but it's really not too awful. The worst is learning how to parallel park. Ay ay ay! And then we got lost of the freeway in the dark. How's that for your first day learning how to drive in Cali? But we made pancakes after that, so that was fun :)

Thursday I got my bike! Not that I'll use it here, but still exciting nonetheless. We also had a really good district meeting and we made French toast for lunch :) then we planned our "Road Trip of the Americas" that Evanson and I are gonna take. It consists of seeing a bunch of random places in the states, Mexico, and Guatemala. Neat, huh? ;) But then we met this super amazing lady named Elpidia! I super love her. Yeah, Thursday night I just LOVED every person we met and it was awesome! That's what the work is about: loving the people :)

Friday the sister trainers, Hnas Cook and Budding, came to do studies with us! They're cute and we love them :) Then we went to see a less active member, Hno Romero, and the lesson went pretty well considering we're still totally unsure of how to help him. But of well. We got breakfast burritos and shakes after--yum! :)

HALLOWEEN!! We didn't get to dress up or anything, but it was good anyway :) we loved seeing all the kiddos dressed up. We talked to some really cool people on the street and then had dinner with the Tzarax family again. We love them and I think they love us just as much :) I ate 3/4 of a pizza that they got for us too. Ay ay ay! Getting fat is a real issue in this mission ;) Then our investigator Rodolfo had his baptismal interview after dinner! So he'll be getting baptized this Sunday. So exciting! :)

And then November! Yesterday we had 4 investigators come to church! MIRACLE! :D Oh my goodness it was amazing. We had Rodolfo, another investigator named Rafael, and then a cute family: Astrid, Franklin, and their two boys Derek and Christopher. AND Hno Romero came! It made us so happy :)

So yeah! Just to end here I'd like to invite you all to go read Elder Anderson's talk from the priesthood session of this last conference. It's amazing! In it he invites us to read the Book of Mormon cover to cover, and I'd extend the same challenge to you :) I know the Book of Mormon will strengthen our faith and bring us even closer to our Heavenly Father EVERY time we read it. It's a great book (and that's an understatement).

Love you guys!
