Feliz Navidad~Próspero Año~Felicidad

Hello dear human beans!
In the wake of my favorite holiday, I hope you all had a spectacular Christmas :) I felt so very blessed to be able to be here as a missionary for a second Christmas. Is there really any better time to be a representative of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ? Really though, I'm so grateful for the Christmas season and for the opportunity it gives us to more fully focus on all that our Savior has done for us. What a great holiday :)

Our Christmas was wonderful. Christmas Eve (morning) Roger was able to get baptized and it was awesome!! He was just so happy :) we've all been waiting quite a while for this--and it was well worth the wait. And honestly, being able to throw together and successfully pull off a baptism in such a short amount of time (we had like 5 days to figure out the logistics side of things like programs and scheduling the building and getting all the right people there--that kinda thing) was a MIRACLE. Literally baptisms never come together easily. So that was literally a Christmas miracle. But the whole service was just so beautiful and the Spirit there was incredible and filled each of our hearts. It was a small service, but that's okay. It was perfect :)
This is Roger :) he's something else for sure. Love the guy though
Then Christmas itself was beautiful too :) for one, its as sunny and 60º outside which is just so weird to me since we always going skiing Christmas morning back at home... Oh whale. And then at church--because this being the perfect Christmas it was, it fell on a Sunday!!--Roger was able to get confirmed and he was even happier!! He was seriously glowing :) Then Hna Zohner and I got to do a special musical number which was fun and then, special guest appearance by none other than MY MUM :D well, my mission mum, Hna Evanson!! That was SO fun to see her again :) you really start to miss your old companions a lot, especially when they're the one who taught you how to missionary! It was so so good seeing her again <3 then 3 dinners and a billion tamales later, we completed what I think has ben one of my most favorite Christmases ever :) wow. Qué bendición!
Mi mum/la abuela, myself, and la nieta
And with that, happy New Years to y'all!! Have fun and stay up late for me ;)

Ciao!

¡FELIZ NAVIDAD!

Buenas tardes a todos y feliz navidad! Ya se acerca eh? SÓLO 6 DÍAS MÁS!!! (But who's counting?) I hope y'all are enjoying the snow, the Christmas music, and the general feel of the Christmas spirit :) we sure are (minus the snow of course because we don't get that here, which is both a blessing and not at the same time)!

We had QUITE a week full of MIRACLES. It was so amazing. It was a little hard at first adjusting to just being 2 of us again, but we're getting back into the swing of things and working hard. One of the many blessings we've seen from the work we've been doing comes in fate form of one of our mission-wide goals: to have a white Christmas in which EVERY companionship in the mission has a baptism in December. When Hna Christensen got her concussion a couple months ago it slowed us down pretty good and I was really worried we wouldn't be able to work hard enough to find people who'd be ready to be baptized this month. It seemed pretty bleak and hopeless for us... But we did our best and tried our hardest anyways, even if there wasn't much we could do. and now, despite the many setbacks and disappointments we've seen, yesterday we saw a miracle! Roger (remember him?) passes his interview and will be getting baptized this weekend!!! :) we couldn't be happier, and neither could he. What a great blessing it's been to be a part of this!! And what an amazing, enormous testimony builder too! It really helped me remember that no matter how weak we are, if we do our very best, have faith, and rely on the Lord, anything is possible--even having a baptism in December when you're almost completely unable to work for 3 weeks.

And another wonderful thing this week was our ward Christmas party, combined with the English ward. It was so much fun :) there was lots of good food (tamales!!!!), good people, and a play of the Nativity brought to you by the Rama Los Altos! And they asked us to participate in it too :) it was so much fun! Hna Zohner was a shepherd and a fish (their Christmas songs are QUITE different than ours but I love them all nonetheless) and I got to be the angel 😇 (mostly because I was the only girl tall enough to wear the dress.) It was so much fun and it made everybody happy. A lot of people though it was both hilarious and adorable that I still had my tag on as the angel... Pffft. Like I wasn't gonna wear it ;)
Anyways, we're just so excited to be able to share the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, especially in this wonderful time of year when our thoughts turn to Him even more, and keep finding little ways to light the world with His light and love <3

I wish you all a most spectacularly happy Christmas

Para Siempre Dios Esté con Vos

Hello my wonderful friends and family!!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!...almost! :) We're unbelievably excited for Christmas over here in La Puente, California. What better time to be a missionary and a representative of Jesus Christ than at Christmas when we celebrate Him?? :) it's truly such a unique experience to be able to spread the good news of our Savior during this special time of the year. And I feel extra blessed to get two Christmases in the mission, as not all sisters do.
Anyway, we had a little bit of a crazy week. For starters, today we (Hna Zohner and I) said goodbye to Hna Christensen porque mañana se va a la casa! TAN rápido se va el tiempo... it's really hard to believe it's already been 4 1/2 months since I started serving with her... We've had a lot of really good times and a lot of serious struggles as well, but I'm grateful for all the time I've had with her!! Christensen was ALWAYS a phenomenal example to me and I've learned so much from her about being a missionary, about the Gospel, about life in general, and she's become a very dear friend to me now 😊 so as happy as I am for ya Christensen, I'm gonna miss ya for sure!! So now it'll just be me and my now-official hija Hna Zohner taking over Los Altos. We're both excited to see where this transfer takes us :) I'm sure great things will happen.
Love y'all!

Qué Hace Un Pez? 🐟 Nada.

So there's my lame Spanish joke for the week!!
We had a fairly normal, semi-uneventful week, but it's all good :) we met this super cool dude named Felipe and started teaching him. We invited him to church and guess what? He actually CAME. MILAGRO!! That, like, never happens. And after sacrament meeting we were like, "Felipe how do you feel?" And he goes "siento bendecido por poder estar aquí. Siento mucho paz. Voy a luchar a venir la próxima semana." Basically, he feels blessed to be able to come and he's going to FIGHT to come next week because he liked it so much. Solid dude.

Also Roger showed back up out of nowhere, completely unexpectedly. We were really happy about that and so is he! :) we can't wait to baptize him!! (And trust me, he wants it even more than we do!)

Also we went on exchanges and I got to leave my area for the first time in 4 months! :D That was a lot of fun :) Christensen and I went to El Monte with Hna Ashby and our baby Zohner stayed home with Hna Schmutz. Poor dear was scared to death but she'll do fine :) Exchanges are always a lot of fun.

And that's basically it for this week!!
