Feliz Diciembre!

So we started off the week with exchanges!!! Guess who my companion for the day was? HNA EVANSON! :D It was so great and we had a lot of fun! It was good being with my momma again :) Also I've been here for 3 months now! What??? Time's already flying by...
Anyway, this week I lost my hobo sweater :( so sad. BUT! On Thursday we had a zone meeting and I got to take a public bus for the first time in me life! Wasn't even hard or scary ;) the zone meeting was really good though and we learned a lot. Then on the way back we met this random Santa guy who yelled "FELIZ NAVIDAD MUCHACHAS! YO SOY SANTA HOMIE." It was hilarious.

Then. Milagro! Rafael, the Peruvian guy we've been teaching, called us and told us that his brother, who had stage 2 cancer of some sort, had just gone to the doctor and didn't have anything anymore. It was so cool! It was so neat to hear about that and see how it impacted Rafael's testimony :) the gospel is so great! Anywho, then on Saturday we had a super dope lesson with a new investigator named Antonio about the Book of Mormon! And he accepted that invitation to be baptized :) we're so happy! Then we also had some people feed us and they gave us cake :) seriously we never get dessert here, so such a blessing. So then Sunday was amazing. Rafael came to church and during testimony meeting he leaned over and asked if he could go up there to. We said yes, and so he did. And he talked about the milagro with his brother and his testimony of prayer. It was so neat :)

So a spiritual thing for the week, I want to share one of my favorite scriptures with y'all. It's Alma 37:44-45. It talks about how following the Gospel is easy and simple. It really is :) the Gospel is beautifully simple and simply beautiful. I love how beautiful and simple the scriptures are and how plain they are to understand. Also there's a new Mormon message called "A Savior is Born" that I'd encourage you all to watch! It's a good reminder of why we celebrate Christmas. I know it's easy to get caught up in everything--all the presents and the lights and whatnot. But if it weren't for our Savior, none of Heavenly Father's plan would be possible. God sending Christ, His Son, was the greatest gift any of us will ever have been given. So I hope you'll all take a little extra time this Christmas season to remember Him :)

Love you all,
-Hermanita Johnson
